Position Details
A Shop Technician plays a crucial role in keeping our communities safe by inspecting, recharging, and maintaining fire extinguishers. This ensures our Fire Service Technicians have the necessary equipment to prevent and mitigate fires effectively.
This role will be operating out of our head office in Richmond, BC.
Compensation: the hourly wage for this role is between $19-21/hour, depending on experience.

Job Description
CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Fire Extinguishers
- Refurbish fire extinguishers (training and certification provided).
- Maintain equipment as required.
- Document extinguisher and hose services; dispose of extinguishers as needed.
- Assist customers at the counter and handle payments.
Other Responsibilities
- Provides support to the Depot Delivery Driver as needed.
- Provides support in the Powder Room as needed.
- Operate a forklift (training and certification provided).

Requirements
- Is safety minded and takes time and consideration to always operate safely.
- Has an interest in the Fire Service Industry and keeping our communities safe.
- Holds a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license and is comfortable driving a cargo van.
- Physically capable of standing, bending, twisting, squatting, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) as required.
- Has a mechanical aptitude (comfortable using hand tools) and eagerness to learn.
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to step in wherever needed.
