Position Details

The Business Manager plays a critical role in supporting Radius Security’s mission to provide leading-edge life safety solutions and create safe communities. This role is the single point of contact for key multi-site clients, ensuring their needs are met with excellence and accountability. By fostering long-term relationships, the Business Manager enhances customer retention, oversees project outcomes, and collaborates with internal teams to deliver exceptional service experiences. This role matters.

LOCATION & HOURS

This role is based out of our Richmond Headquarters and is permanent & full-time (40 hours/week). Site visits and some travel may be required (minimal).

COMPENSATION

Depending on the candidate, this role has a salary range of $80,000-$120,000 per year (this includes base salary + commission/bonus structure).

Job Description

CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. National Account Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for multi-site customers, ensuring seamless communication and strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Sales teams to meet expectations, enhance retention, and maintain service quality.
  • Conduct regular touchpoints (site visits, calls, meetings) with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of Master Sales Agreements and Service Level Agreements.

2. Project Management

  • Oversee multi-site projects, including prioritized evergreen (aging) installation renewals and upgrades.
  • Lead project execution, ensuring on-time, on-budget completion while meeting customer requirements.
  • Provide technical design support, review specifications, and ensure compliance with project objectives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, R&D, and the Command Center team on site reviews and new opportunities.
  • Oversee ad-hoc projects for multi-site customers, including prioritized evergreen (aging) installation renewals and upgrades.
  • Lead project completion efforts to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while adhering to approved objectives.
  • Ensure proper application of systems products/services to meet customer needs.
  • Provide technical design for prospects and the field team, ensuring clear understanding of system intent.
  • Review all specifications and ensure project designs and estimates are compliant with desired objectives in mind.

3. Key Account Management

  • Conduct site visits using a standardized checklist to assess needs and identify cross-sell opportunities.
  • Address escalated customer concerns and develop resolution plans for at-risk accounts.
  • Lead missed incident reviews, coordinating with internal teams and providing recommendations.
  • Support customers with technology trends, crime prevention strategies, and security upgrades.
  • Work closely with internal teams (Command Center, Police Liaisons, and Operations) to proactively improve security at problematic sites.
  • Conducts ‘apprehension’, ‘vulnerability reviews’ & ‘missed event’ reviews with the customer and with internal support team

Requirements

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

Experience

  • 3 + years in technical sales, with a proven track record of success.
  • 1 + years in security, construction, life safety, or related industries.
  • Hands on experience with project cost estimates, quotes, RFIs, and reviewing project specifications.

Education & Certifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electronics, IT, or Computer Sciences, would be an asset.
  • CCTV, Networks, Telecom, or related technical training, certificate, or experience, would be an asset.
  • Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) certified, or a keen interest to become certified.
  • A valid drivers license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to receive and maintain a valid security license.

Skills & Strengths

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to generate recurring sales and successfully upsell services.
  • General knowledge of networks, security technology, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, and CCTV systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); Visio is a plus.
  • Problem-solver with a solutions-focused mindset.
