Position Details
As a Journeyman Electrician, you will bring your expertise to support our customers with small renovation and repair projects, ensuring their systems are up to code and fully operational. Specifically, your role will focus on providing low-voltage electrical services, including the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm panels and devices, emergency lighting systems, exit signs, and compressor motors. Your skills will play a key role in helping us deliver reliable, high-quality solutions in the fire protection industry.
This role will be 50% in office (Richmond, BC) and 50% in the field.
Compensation: $40-$45/hour, depending on experience.

Job Description
CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Site Visits and Permits
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and prepare quotes for fire alarm replacements and installations.
- Apply for and close out electrical permits with municipalities, ensuring adherence to all applicable codes and regulations.
Fire Alarm Systems
- Install and troubleshoot addressable fire alarm panels, specifically Mircom systems.
- Program Mircom FX 2000 and FX 4000 fire alarm panels (manufacturer-provided training available).
- Perform wiring work to add, delete, or relocate fire alarm devices.
- Conduct fire alarm verifications as required.
Electrical Installations and Maintenance
- Perform wiring work to add breakers to panels for compressors, special hazard systems, emergency lighting circuits, exit signs, and more.
- Assist the sprinkler department by rewiring switches for mechanical systems.
- Run conduit, pull wire, and make professional electrical connections using wiring diagrams and schematics.
Safety and Quality Assurance
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including BC Electrical Code, BC Building Code, and BC Elevator Code.
- Detect and report defective materials, faulty operations, or unusual conditions.
- Maintain best trade practices to uphold Radius Fire's reputation for quality work.
Other Responsibilities
- Be available for after-hours and weekend work as needed to meet customer demands.
- Take advantage of growth opportunities to manage large-scale installation projects in the future.

Requirements
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Red Seal Certification and Class B or C Electrical FSR Designation (required).
- Knowledge of the BC Fire Code and ability to read engineered drawings.
- Basic computer skills and trade-specific tools.
- A valid BC Driver’s License and clean abstract.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- ASTT Certification for fire alarm testing (asset).
- Experience with older fire alarm panels, special hazard systems, and releasing panels (asset).
