Position Details

The Command Centre Operator monitors and responds to all incoming video and regular alarms. The Command Centre Operator will dispatch police, fire and ambulance when required to our different cities across Canada and in the U.S.A. The purpose of this position is to apprehend and arrest suspects while protecting our customers assets and site properties.

Compensation: this role has an hourly rate of between $21-24/hour, depending on experience

Other Information

  • Shift available: Night shift (8pm-8am)
  • Full time position working rotating shifts of 12 hours.
  • Night Shift premium for working overnight shift

Job Description

Core Tasks:

  • Monitoring and dispatching on alarm events
  • Monitoring and dispatching on live crime in progress via video
  • Respond accordingly to all ULC Fire monitoring accounts
  • Notifying emergency contacts of alarm signals and or video events
  • Handling incoming calls
  • Handling outbound calls
  • Data entry of new accounts and updates
  • Administration duties
  • Adhering to scheduled hours of rotation
  • Dispatching after hour emergency technicians
  • Adhere to established departmental procedures and Municipal, Provincial, National and Industry Standards
  • Provide guidance, analyze information, determine important details, prioritize and resolve issues, including helping customers with their alarm systems
  • Other duties as required

Requirements

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous call center experience or alarm monitoring is an asset but will train right candidate
  • High Diploma is required
  • Typing speed of 40 wpm is required
  • Computer literate mandatory
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check for security licensing requirements
  • Must be able to remain alert throughout full shift
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Remain calm and manage high stress situations
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Excellent judgement and decision-making abilities
  • Must be able to develop and sustain positive and harmonious working relationships with all colleagues
